Onward into October

Class Library visits, circulation, and patron counts are all on the rise, and students have already saved a significant amount of money by using our free Library resources. It's exciting to see so many of you advising your students to take advantage of what the CWC Library has to offer. We can't wait to keep the momentum going throughout the rest of the semester.

Writing Center Hours are OPEN: We are happy to say that last semester we held over 90 sessions in our Writing Center. This semester we hope to help even more students.

Class Visits and Orientations: Thus far we have 40 class visits or orientations scheduled. We updated our form, it's shorter! Please sign up using this form. Below learn why class visits are important.

Database Highlight - Infobase Science, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Harvard Business Review, and Ovid Health Science Journals.

Event Programming - We are bringing back some of our academic and writing centered workshops and calling them Deep Dives. These are viewable on our Events calendar

Support for Every Writer

The Writing Center is off to a great start, we have seen so many student asking for guidance with their writing assignments. Students have come to us for everything from paper layout, thesis development, talking through concepts, citation, and annotated bibliographies to name a few topics.

While we're not a proofreading service we do guide students toward becoming confident, independent writers through collaboration and skill-building.

The Writing Center is/has:

Free and open to all CWC Library Patrons
Appointments available in Riverton and now in Lander!

If you have an assignment coming up that requires writing or research please encourage your students to visit early and often. Please mention the Writing Center in your syllabus. Together, we’ll help them succeed, one paragraph at a time.

The Harvard Business Review gives students the perspective and context they need to navigate the current workplace and prepare for their careers. The readings are authored by faculty at Harvard Business School.

Our Ovid Health Science Journals contains 92 of the top nursing journals used by nurses, nursing students, and health professionals around the world on a daily basis including The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) and NEJM Evidence—a peer-reviewed journal that provides clinical investigators and physicians with research and evidence that informs clinical decision-making, and spotlights areas where more study is critical.

Science Online offers a comprehensive overview of a broad range of scientific disciplines. Topic Centers feature specially selected content on core science disciplines to help students find a starting point for their research.

A reminder: It is important for our calculations and ROI reports that our usage is calculated correctly. We need your help to provide the correct information. To do this please provide the database link, or permalink, to your students and not a PDF of the item you want them to read. By doing this all usage will be calculated so that we have the essential data needed to keep all of our databases that you love.
